In days gone by, Pioneer Days always featured a children's fishing derby.
This popular event returns with the Michael O'Donnell Memorial Fish-A-Thon which will be held on Sunday morning, September 5th.

Englewood Pioneer Days 2010: We're Going Green!
The 54th annual Pioneer Days Parade and Festival will take place on Dearborn Street in Olde Englewood Village on Monday, September 6 2010. 
The Vendors open at 9 am, the Parade kicks off at 10.
The Pioneer Days theme for 2010 is "We're Going Green."
The festival will feature 2 entertainment stages featuring the music of Destined, The Saintones and The Boogiemen. As well as the traditional Watermelon and Pie eating contests. This year will also be the 20th Anniversary of the Beard Contest, with 3 awards for both new beards and not so new beards. In addition to entertainment, the festival will feature Green Vendors to answer all your Green questions. There will be an extended variety of affordable food choices as well as ticketed and free things for the kids to do.
